AGENDA

1. Welcome and introductions
2. Approve minutes
3. Treasurer's report; approve reimbursements
4. Discussion/action items:
     a. S.M. Airport -- AB 700 (moving through the State Senate in amended form; letters of
         support received from OPA, Wilmont, and SMCLC) and Runway Safety Areas (Aug. 14th
         Council meeting decision point)
     b. Traffic circulation and land use issues:
          1) Making Olympic and Pico one-way streets -- Do we want to take a Board position
              before the July 12th meeting?
          2) Industrial Lands -- Do we want to take a Board position before the workshop on July 21st
              at SMC?
          3) The proposed temporary building moratorium will be an agenda item at the July 24th
               Council meeting.
          4) Ocean Park Blvd. -- still waiting for the Transportation Management Department to
              schedule a community meeting to discuss current plans for re-striping OPB from
              Lincoln to 23rd St.
     c. Crime in the neighborhood
     d. Downtown: The Village at Civic Center; Santa Monica Pier bridge; California incline closure
         for repairs; city trees on 2nd and 4th Streets
     e. SMC: Artificial turf to be installed on the JAMS play field by the college -- waiting for approval
         from the Dept. of the State Architect
    f. Homelessness -- citywide meeting
     g. Workforce housing -- citywide meetings
     h. Emergency preparedness ("I've Got 7") -- Have you got 7 days worth of food, water, and
         emergency supplies?
     i. Dialing 9-1-1 from a cell phone connects you to the CHP dispatch, so please program your
       cell phones with the S.M. Police Department non-emergency dispatch number, 310-458-
       8491, in case you can't get through to the CHP.
     j. Medical emergencies -- When you dial 9-1-1 for medical emergencies, we are now part of
       the L.A. Regional Fire Dispatch system. So be prepared to give an exact address to the
       dispatcher so he/she can quickly locate both you and the nearest paramedics.
