*********** The City of Santa Monica has launched a new internet service, parkingspacenow.smgov.net , that displays the number of available parking spaces in downtown structures and beach parking lots. The web site is automatically updated every five seconds and displays the information projected onto an aerial view of downtown Santa Monica. The launch of this new service coincides with the start of the holiday shopping season, a time when downtown parking is at a premium.
