The FOSP Board urges members NOT to SIGN the AOPA-supported Airport petition being circulated door-to-door and at Bob’s, Albertsons, the 99-cent store, etc.
If passed, this initiative would change the City Charter in order to maintain the “status quo” at Santa Monica Airport. Almost all changes at the airport, including raising leases to market rate, would require a new ballot measure each time.
The initiative is opposed by the boards of Friends of Sunset Park, Northeast Neighbors, Ocean Park Association, Pico Neighborhood Association, Santa Monica Mid-City Neighbors, Wilshire-Montana Neighborhood Coalition, and Santa Monicans for Renters Rights.
