October 4 to 6The Weekend to End Homelessness 2019 (#W2EH2019). These community events are designed to engage, educate, and inspire LA County residents to get involved and directly connected to their local homeless service providers. There are three ways to participate:

  1. Attend an event in your area. Go to Inner City Law Center’s Homeful.LA — https://homeful.la/weekend-to-end-homelessness/ — or LAHSA’s Facebook page — https://www.facebook.com/lahsa.org — and RSVP. Feel free to just show up to any event without an RSVP. However, RSVPs are helpful for our planning and for keeping you engaged after the weekend.
  2. Volunteer for a convenient 4-hour shift and work with other people who are already committed to making a difference. Go to LA Works https://www.laworks.com/homefulla —  a trusted source known for connecting people to volunteer opportunities since 1980.
  3. We will be collecting new toiletries for hygiene kits, new and gently used Halloween costumes for children who would otherwise not be able to afford them, and winter items including socks, blankets, and sweaters.

Westside: October 4 – Noon to 2 PM — Forum with Community Leaders and Donation Drive – 1645 Corinth, West Los Angeles

LAHSA is a joint powers authority of the city and county of Los Angeles, created in 1993 to address the problem of homelessness in Los Angeles County. LAHSA is the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care, and coordinates and manages over $400 million annually in federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness.
